  It's not really essential viewing if you know anything about the band but if you want a little insight into the creation of K-pop icons and how much luck had to play into the fact that these particular 4 women ended up together and became one of the biggest acts in the world, this is worth a look.

  I'm not at all familiar with The Mars Volta but that did not detract at all from my enjoyment of this doc which tracks two friends and collaborators though the rise, fall and reconnection of both their creative and personal lives over the span of 20+ years.

  Found it particularly interesting to see the two very different personas feed into and work together to a common goal.

  I’ve liked, though not always enjoyed. Lars von Trier’s offerings over the past few years but for some reason, likely the combination of length and expectation, Melancholia escaped me. With his new film due for festival runs this winter, the time seemed ripe to catch up with his 2011 offering. Why did I wait so long?

  Undeniably beautiful, Melancholia is also my favourite of von Trier’s works. It’s his exploration of a woman suffering through depression on her wedding day…

  This was sold as a trashy 70s horror movie that had some scandalous sexy moments but I was fooled! It’s a ridiculous movie about a woman who creates living sex dolls but the male mate she made for herself can’t get it up so she calls her cousin (or aunt, or something) to help him solve the erectile problems.

  There’s a dude in an ape suit who rapes a bunch of people, a dance number (also with said ape) and…
