  Had some entertaining songs and dance sequences but was overall pretty forgettable. The last half / third of the movie dragged a lot. There didn't really seem to be any plot or any deep character studies to make up for it. The cast was overall great though, all supremely talented singers and dancers.

  This movie's underrated! Probably closer to the book than the original Gene Wilder movie. Charlie's adorable here. Johnny Depp's exactly the right amount of weird and creepy as an eccentric like Willy Wonka's supposed to be. The musical sequences with the Oompa Loompas are upbeat, fun, and weird.
