The Man from Earth 2007
Brilliant example of how simplicity can make a film so much better.
It could've easily cut between the present and past of the main character's life, but instead, it stays focused on the modern day, letting the dialogue do all the heavy lifting.
This choice makes it so much more thought-provoking and emotional. The ideas explored about immortality and the human experience are fascinating, and the ending hits hard in the best way possible.
We need more films like this
