  Seeing Patrick Stewart in this made me think of his appearance in Extras and the memorable line: ”Is there any nudity in it?”

  There sure is a lot of nudity in this one. I can accept that it makes sense from a narrative standpoint, but was it really necessary to make Mathilda May go through with all of that?

  The Little Mermaid 1989

  This is my earliest memory of a visit to a movie theater. It obviously made an enormous impression on me back then. But how does it hold up today?

  Surprisingly well, I would say, even if it is one of the lesser films of Disney's golden era in the late 80's and early 90's. It doesn't quite reach the visual or narrative heights of Beauty and the Beast or The Lion King. 

  But the musical numbers are still wonderful. And most importantly, the film still has the power to impress the older version of a child in awe.
