    The Batman

    ★★★★½

As the film is quite long, I will only list some great moments because I can't remember everything:
The Penguin walking like a real penguin because he is tied up - hilarious.
Batman in combat, especially when the room is lit only by the muzzle flash.
The car chase on the highway... I could go on like this

The music is great, there are quite a few memorable themes. And of course, the cinematography is fantastic.

The only deduction is for the overlength. It wasn't as bad as other films, but it still felt a bit too long.

  • West Side Story

    West Side Story

    ★★★★

I didn't know there was a prequel to In the Heights.

But joking aside, West Side Story is great and has great choreography, and the singing wasn't bad either. Of course, the music was fantastic, thanks to Bernstein.

However, I find it hard to imagine the conversation between Maria and Anita: "Maria, your brother has been killed." - "I know, I just slept with his murderer." - "Oh, great..." But anyway, it's a good and really sad story.

So the main takeaway should be: it doesn't matter where you come from, let's just all get along (a pretty timely topic).

Apart from a bad script, mediocre visual effects and virtually no character development, this film also managed to disregard any kind of logic and physics.
Sam Tarly - or whatever the lunatic's name was - said something along the lines of "Your rules don't apply here" ... YES, THEY DO. THEY ALWAYS APPLY!!!

First things first: I´ve seen Josstice League way back, I can´t remember much but it wasn´t that good, so I won´t compare them.

Unlike the movie, I will keep this review short. Visually this movie was stunning, it really has some awesome shots and beautiful cinematography. Tom Holkenborg´s music is amazing. The story is quite interesting and thought-out but has definitely some minor flaws. Also, all heroes now play an important part, which makes watching them reach their goals far…
