Premiering in 2007, “Gavin and Stacey” ended with a 2024 Christmas special that captivated audiences, drawing 12.3 million viewers on the BBC alone - the highest overnight figure for a Christmas Day show since 2008’s “Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death.” The series follows the intertwined lives of Stacey (Joanna Page) from Wales and Gavin (Matthew Horne) from Britain, and subsequent relationships with their eclectic families and friends. Created by, and starring, James Corden (as knock-about lad Smithy)…

This Lithuanian-produced animation begins with a catastrophic flood that displaces a small black cat. As the story unfolds, the cat joins forces with a golden retriever, a stork, a capybara, and a lemur, and together they face numerous challenges while navigating a water-covered world. The animals communicate through vocalisations and…

Set in present-day dystopian America, a group of journalists travel from New York City to Washington during a civil war to interview and photograph the third term president. With little information about the war and zero back story on the characters, it’s essentially a film about getting from point A to point B with some life-and-death drama thrown in along the way. Kirsten Dunst gives a satisfactory performance as photographer Lee Smith but unfortunately most of those around her feel one dimensional. It’s good but could’ve been better. Unsettling, intense and perhaps foreboding?

The true story of writer, creator and lead actor Richard Gadd about the catalyst that led him to confront his past trauma. When bar tender Donny (Gadd) makes a cup of tea for a distraught customer, Martha (played superbly and chillingly by Jessica Gunning) she becomes obsessed with him - and so begins years of relentless stalking. But does Donny really want it to end? You’ll feel shocked, uncomfortable and infuriated and will question Donny’s destructive choices as his patterns repeat themselves. It’s a car crash you cannot look away from. Tough going but excellent.
