What a little hidden gem of a movie. Very quirky and irreverent comedy with a great cast. Somehow this one slippped past my radar for 25 years. Glad I finally saw it. The most hated woman in a small NY town is killed and everyone is a suspect. Also everyone drives a Yugo, yes you read that right, a Yugo. Most definitely would watch this again.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower 2012
A film about love, friendship, growing up, loneliness, mental health, high school and the importance of good music. I have no idea why I haven’t watched this masterpiece earlier. I’m a sucker for a good coming of age movie and this one hit me right in the feels. Will most definitely watch again.

Michael Keaton does a wonderful job as a father with kids that have an huge age gap. After the young twins mother abruptly goes to rehab Keaton is forced to deal with his shortcomings as a father and a failing art gallery owner. Mika Kunis also does an excellent job as the oldest sibling. Another film that I maybe could give another half a star to.

A Different Man 2024
A movie about change and the fact that maybe something’s you shouldn’t change. Also a movie about confidence and the ability to love yourself. Sebastian Stan won a Golden Globe for his performance, although it was for an actor in a musical or comedy, which I don’t think this film is either. It’s not without its fleeting moments of dark humor though not enough that I would call it a comedy unless painted with the broadest strokes. Definitely glad I watched this film even though I may never watch it again. By the way, does anybody even read these things?
