A chilling, horrifying account of a city under siege. No politics, just a real account of modern war.
Story was mystery-thriller standard; it drifted along, punctuated by bits of salacious humor, then got exciting at the end. The final image is really what stands out to me. The film's chilling subversion of the suicidal cult trope neatly culminates in those concluding seconds.
A solid showcasing of the crime-world trope. Colin Farrell sounded like he was subbing his own lines, but his aesthetic was compelling. Jamie Foxx was solid. Very moody and broody in tone, even the party scenes - but that's classic early oughts thriller for ya.
