  oh how i miss seeing my father as a mysterious all-powerful, all-knowing, all-conquering, looking at him from about the height of his navel. oh how i miss the stars over my head when i’d discover, even if they were just dainty window rails. how i miss seeing the south from afar only as a ghost of two women in the mist of tales, now that i see it all so close and clearly.
