There are a plethora of social issues at stake here: sexuality, race, addiction, the whole lot. This film risked biting off more than it could chew. But it chewed everything up and spat out a touching story of familial reconciliation, acceptance, and perhaps most importantly, change. This film teaches that what one person perceives as changeable or controllable, another may not, and this is the bottom-line of tension about many of our social issues.

This Beautiful Fantastic 2016
A heartwarming fairytale which offers a paramount example of how plot predictability needn't entail monotony. This is a film with character, depth, and marvellous acting from the protagonist. Not to mention beautiful scenery at points, which is let down by occasional low-effort filler shots that hinder continuity. An exposé of the narrow-mindedness of film critics who choose to nitpick, overlooking the best elements in favour of the worst.
