  Great performances by Pacino and Robin Williams, and also Maura Tierney! I think as a whole liked the film, but would have it categorized as “good, not great”. Subject matter, and the beautiful / bizarre setting, I was wanting something more creepy, yet stimulating. Perhaps I was expecting something more “Twin Peaks” / David Lynch-esque, given murder mystery based on PNW lol.

  Oh, Paul Dooley also goes on the list of grumpy old guys that are awesome in every role.

  This is an all-time movie, one of my favorite comedies, I know some scenes get meme’d to death, but the movie as a whole is so damn good. Ezal played by Anthony Johnson and Bernie Mac cameo are the 2 funniest things about the movie, just incredible characters. Ice Cube and Chris Tucker have great chemistry and timing.

  I really didn’t enjoy this one. Yes all the characters suck and constantly bury themselves deeper with worse decisions, so not very redeeming, but Safdie bros could do this and I’d really like it.

  Sidney Lumet has made a bunch of great NYC thrillers, but this one was a bit lame. That stupid corporate Manhattan bar Ethan Hawke hangs out in? Ugh that pissed me off, so bizarre. Admittedly, PSH is very good at playing characters you don’t like

  Casualties of War 1989

  Recently went on a kick of Vietnam movies, and this was probably near the bottom, but still not a bad film. I haven’t seen every single De Palma film, but I don’t think I’ve disliked any of them I’ve seen so far. Sean Penn particularly menacing in this one. I didn’t know it was based on true story coming into the movie…pretty messed up stuff

  Also cool shots of 80s Mission Dolores park, that i didn’t expect.
