    This is one where I have many thoughts and I'm struggling to make them coherent.

    First unfortunately I gotta get the negatives out: the dialogue is often painfully exposition-y in a way that makes it impossible to forget you're watching a movie, the main couple is a bit too dumb like I get the point is parenting is impossible especially when the standards are impossible but godamn they were shooting like 5% and that's a frustrating stretch that lessens both…

    It was funny enough but never really had me howling or anything. A fun hangout movie for sure. The dad is easily the best character and the Deebo music was the best running gag. The finale morality bit felt especially unnecessarily forced tho.

    I'm actually pissed. Why the fuck do people praise this at all? I just wasted an hour and a half of my life because people call this a classic. I like Lynch, I'm ok with absurd and unexplained and abstract art house stuff. This is just boring. There's not a single thing that interested me in this movie. It's slow as hell and even visually uninteresting and it makes actually 0 fucking sense past the most basic thematic premise. Like I need at least something to hold on to while watching, and this had nothing. An utter waste of time.

    Just a blast of a movie. Really really funny. Thrilling and emotional as well tho. And also a fascinating psychological study.
