Don't Look Up 2021
Some of the satire is a little over the top, but it still manages to have poignant moments. While not as clever as it hoped to be, I have a hard time understanding the level of negativity against something that is not meant to be taken entirely seriously. Maybe some people saw a little too much of themselves in the film. Harder to laugh at the joke if you are the butt of it.

Pointlessly meandering, plotless, and painfully cliched, this financially successful film demonstrates that a movie composed solely of a series of progressively larger explosions would likely turn a buck. While having most of the hallmarks you would come to expect from a Blomkamp film, "Chappie" cleverly develops themes of humanity, morality, and the nature of consciousness without forcing you to dwell on them.
