Happy Feet 2006
I'm surprised how little this movie is brought up in discussions, but maybe that's a good thing.
As an admitted fan of kids adventure movies, I couldn't describe what I actually enjoy about this movie. I owned it on DVD and watched it often, but nothing really sticks in my mind. While impressive in it's photo realism, the CGI animation doesn't leave much of an impression on the audience. The tap-dancing allows for decent musical moments, but it isn't enough for it to be a proper musical. Definitely an interesting movie, but not one I would really recommend.

I think this movie exists as a psy-op to get David Cross' voice imprinted into kids heads. I swear, ever since this movie, I can see a David Cross performance coming from a mile away.
Anyways, this movie was pretty good and a constant rewatch for me as a kid. I read a lot of the books thanks to my local library, and this works as a good origin story for how George and the Man in the Yellow Hat…
