Taste of Cherry 1997
Just a person driving through dust, he's desperate, stoic, wrestling existentialism.
Dry mouth, the dry skin and dried up sense of humanity get some release ultimately. Or maybe not.
Damn good film. Like a modern religious parable, but in a Rang Rover and almost critical towards God.

Flow 2024
No dialogue, just animals and wonderful fantastical story telling.
(I love how this film was made in Blender 3D, software I cherish, and I know the following point was most definitely an intentional stylistic choice: I didn't like how the slightly low-res close-up character models looked, a bit stiff, bit ugly and odd blocky light gradients. Were they rendered in old evee?? No, like I said, great film and they wanted it to look that way. I respect a consistent artistic choice even when I am fully on board -- JUST LIKE THE CAT hua!!)

The Substance 2024
Neat body horror premise, great direction and most importantly: at a point the film could have ended on a cool, tame, predictable note BUT it took a whole other highway with a grand batshit finale that messes you up good. a FOTY

Louis C.K.: Sorry 2021
a bit shallow actually and i thought, chances are in 10 years or so he might be an actual mega conservative grumpy asshole
but damn it, his death-is-great philosophy and the naked shameful banana joke got me good
