Once the reveal of what she is scratching at the back of her head is shown I got up thinking it was over, but to my surprise there were 35 more minutes left….
One of the worst paced movies I’ve ever experienced using the same trope of trauma metaphors. The premise of a motivational speaker being infected with a demon that destroys her psyche is interesting but ultimately wasted.
BUT everything is well shot, well acted and the monster/gross/disturbing moments are effective.

The best entry since VHS 2.
Probably the most consistent entry as well, where every short is at least pretty good - pretty great.
The budget flex is on full display with some absolutely insane special effects and creature designs.
Connecting mockumentary alien segments felt unnecessary by the end with little pay off, and the 2nd short nearly gave me a seizure 😵💫

Freddy Krueger meets Barney. A vengeful spirit that goes after adults rather than children. A concept that on paper, works a lot better than executed.
The film has some incredible visual effects and monster designs, and Mr Crocket himself is played so well, unfortunately the story around him moves at an accelerated pace and I wish it took some more time to breathe and not rush through so much story in 85 minutes.
Overall, a fun time to be had that hits a nostalgic bone, but didn’t entirely land with me story wise.
