It's like Star Wars 8:
If you like the source material, it's basically a f#@k you in your face.
But if you like the people behind the project (Taika Waititi), you still won't have a good time but at least some moment will make you smile.
Using the rings as martial arts weapons instead of actual rings was a great idea.
Why do the sets look better in the making-of than in the actual movie?
The creativity behind the fighting scenes is incredible. For that aspect alone, it's a wuxia worth watching.
The story is unhinged with the main protagonist being treated like shit almost in the entirety of the movie, it's straight up comedic with how it's handled (I won't complain because it makes me laugh), but it didn't make me care when the movie wants to be a more serious which is the only problem I have with it.
Besides that, I loved it and I definitely want to see more from that director!
