I was blessed to go into this screening knowing even less than when I first saw Barbarian and loved every minute of it. Great cast, great to look at onscreen, great soundtrack & score.. this is now a Zach Creger stan account

However many times you think they say the f slur in this movie, I assure you it’s more than that. Shockingly less fun than I remembered (but still kinda fun)

    Wow.
    Beautifully acted
    Beautifully shot
    and beautifully scored.

There’s no earthly reason why this movie had to be two hours and twenty minutes but the finale is worth the cost of admission. It’s Carrie, it’s the Shining, it’s the Fly, and it’s too long.

A 1:40 edit of this is a 5 star movie

It’s kinda nice to see a movie that knows what it is, knows that you know what it is, and doesn’t try to be more than itself. Hugh Grant is transparently creepy and the young women on whom he’s creeping are rightly creeped out from the jump. Kind of dumb that they didn’t balk at his confession that there’s metal in the ceilings and walls, but that’s okay because we’re here for dumb fun! Not as creative or interesting as the best horror of the year (Late Nights w the Devil and In a Violent Nature) but I’d gladly watch it again.
