The animation was just superb. You can tell hours of hard work and passion were put into this.
As a proud ABC, I'm excited that Sun Wukong & Ne Zha are bringing attention Chinese mythology to western audiences. For far too long as a minority, I've had to try and identify with western mythologies to look up to.
I think it's great that an animated film of this calibre will be an entry point for global audiences to the growing competition…

An eerie, unsettling vibe. The plot and the character's motivations are ambiguous for the majority of the film's runtime.
The location, environment and it's inhabitants make the film so realistic in its bleak rawness and authenticity.
Kate Dickie and Tony Curran's performances give terrific performances but I could go back to this film repeatedly just for the setting alone, as the Red Road flats are truly a character in its own right.
