  This film rocked my world, genuinely. Shone light upon corners of my mind and heart that I didn’t know existed. So true to life and the queer experience (or mine at least). It was like watching a projection of my actual memories on screen.   How does Guadagnino do it? The crisp and bitter excellence of every shot, the slow burn of character, the unexpected perfection of the soundtrack. Hands down the best first kiss scene I have ever seen (from two men anyway)- it stunned me. So real, so brutal and so HANDSOME.

  So eerie in its subtlety. Hugh Grant is as equally punchable as he is terrifying in this. Loved the open end. Surprising and unpredictable in parts.

  So sunny. So golden. This film feels safe and warm and oh so mellow. Gorgeous colours, sprinkles of flowers, outdoor-ness, simplistic costume that calls upon the beauty of London in the 90’s. Something about the aura of Beautiful Thing feels airy and lush and almost makes one yearn for younger days- or a time that never was.
