Elevation 2024
The basic premise was fine. I like the three leads, but they deserved better dialogue and emotional growth. The plot is workable, and I can be fine with the pov character not having answers about the larger implications of the monster element, but most of the interactions are cliches and redundant arguments that don’t allow any real expansiveness of character, which can go a long way in covering a low budget film. In the end it was an enjoyable enough movie in the moment, but not much more

Sweet, gentle, and goofy slacker detective riff. What Big Lebowski was to Philip Marlowe & Sam Spade, this movie is to Chinatown, but where the former had sharp nihilistic edges and slapstick, this leans into silly characters and heart.
