I somehow both really enjoyed this film, while simultaneously extremely infuriated by it. It was very funny and genuine, by moments. It did also feel extremely forced and heavy handed with it's storytelling. Scenes where these real people are opening up about their struggles with COVID and lockdown had this uncanny feeling about them. What they were saying and talking about would feel real, because it was, but the way these moments were presented, the delivery from these people, or…

I think this might be Bong Joon-Ho's best film. He perfectly melds comedy and tragedy in this film. Satirising and commenting on the the real life Lee Chun-Jae murders in the 90's and how poorly the police dealt with the case.
The film twists and turns. Subverts your expectations and keeps you gripped. Showing these misguided, incompetent, ruthless, but well intentioned detectives go to any lengths to either "solve" the case or actually catch the killer.

Nolan's best film since Interstellar. Had some really high highs but also had a few minor issues that if tweaked or removed would've made the film so much more enjoyable. My biggest issue is with the pacing. Never have I seen a film that both felt like it was rushing everything but also somehow dragged. Great score, great performances all round (especially Emily Blunt and Downey Jr). Pretty good movie that was massively overhyped. The subject matter, questions it raises, and reading about the really life historical event is way more memorable, provocative, and interesting then the film itself sadly.
