Babylon 2022
I‘ve probably never seen a movie that’s as much of a love letter to cinema as it’s also pointless, arrogant, superficial and boastful. I guess I liked it. At least wasn’t bored for a second of those three hours of ecstasy. While part of me loathes Damien Chazelle‘s way of filmmaking…he‘s just very good at it.

Exactly what you’d expect and wish to get from this. The first head gets crushed within a minute as Foo Fighters turn the haunted house theme into a haunted studio. Some hilarious moments in there, fantastic chainsaw scene, mixed up with some jokes on the music scene. The only issue really is that they can’t hold the pace until the end as they’re slowly running out of ideas after the middle part. Some 15-20 minutes shorter would’ve probably done good.

Can’t really believe I’m typing this, but this was just really, really bad.
