If this was the only film he made, Mani Ratnam would still go down as one of India's best.
Overall a near-perfect film - flawless performances from prime Mohanlal, Prakash Raj and Aishwarya Rai(on debut!), jaw-dropping cinematography and breakneck but smooth editing that makes 2 and a half hours simply fly by. While the songs may seem a bit excessive, one can hardly complain when it's AR Rahman at the peak of his prowess.Translated from by
