The ‘werewolf’ looks more like a German Shepherd with peanut butter in its mouth. Low-budget Columbia horror with occasional tension and a good performance by Nina Foch as a gypsy princess living under a family curse.

Shadows in an Empty Room 1976
Maverick Ottawa cop Stuart Whitman will stop at nothing to find out who’s responsible for his sister’s death. Violent grindhouse crime thriller directed in Canada by an Italian director with a mostly American cast (Rick Dalton would have been at home here.) A bit convoluted but worth watching for a bonkers and genuinely memorable car chase.

The Left Hand of God 1955
A new priest (Humphrey Bogart) arrives at a Catholic mission in rural 1947 China, but his robes seem to conceal a darker past.
Offbeat and rather charming adventure tale
with Gene Tierney as Bogart’s beautiful not-quite love interest and an enormously entertaining Lee J. Cobb as a Chinese warlord (!) who knows Bogart’s true identity.Translated from by
