i love it when a film is able to hold multiple truths at once.
kore-eda is skilled at capturing the hidden world that children create for themselves when they are abused/bullied.
monster has a non linear timeline and feels like a puzzle you need to put together in your head. i still have some questions unanswered but i'm sure i'll find some answers when i watch it again.
