Watching this with zero knowledge around the first Gladiator film was still a BLAST. It was so enthralling. I guessed a few things that were callbacks to the original film, so it was pretty easy to digest going in blind. Also Paul Mescal has absolutely taken my attention and reached #2 on my celebrity crush list. Right under his lookalike Jack Harlow 😂

The Substance 2024
The body horror in this was so grotesque and was so believable you could feel it in your own body. I did take off one star for the ending, I absolutely hated the new year’s scene and the way it resolved. It felt rushed and not planned out at all.
