A commentary on lives semi-connected through changing narration and protagonists, through incredibly creative “passing of baton” transitions and whimsical connections — e.g. “the closest I got to her was 0.01 cm... 56 hours later I fell in love.” The usage of little household items to illustrate the expiration dates of relationships, and the emotions surrounding breakups (wet towels, worn down soap bars), was refreshingly endearing.
Faye Wong stole the latter half of the film for me, I wish her vocals made it into her character, but she proves she is a formidable actress outside of her musical genius.
