I'm sorry. Not made for me.
Admittedly it grew on me over time. But I often felt that I was just making excuses for having not enjoyed suuuuch an anticipated movie by a respected director.
I think it really captures the essence of life, how pointless a lot of misery is, how random and yet interconnected it all is. So I appreciated that. But from a perspective that felt voyeuristic, that savoured misfortune and violence. I've had enough of seeing…Translated from by -

Easily one of my favourite films I watched this year. Also of all time.
Sadness is dealt with in a way that feels whole. Not condescending or pitiful or indulgent. But whole.
I have never lived so life as I have lived through this movie. Nor have I sought to understand death more.
