A great feminist piece. Not at all in the direction I thought it would go. I was horrified, grossed out, laughed, shocked, and then pleasantly surprised. Poor Things presents the patriarchy in many different modes. Science, parenting, sexuality, and romance. It shakes up these themes and presents us with the overwhelming experience that women will be sexualized from infancy to death. It allows the audience to rediscover the world through Bella’s eyes and watch her stand up to God Himself. Plus—it’s super gay.
