Music for Misfits: The Story of Indie
I actually supplied the copy of Talulah Gosh's eponymous music video used in this (i'm a bit of an amateur archivist of such things), so I guess this is the only film on Letterboxd I contributed to in some way.
The middle part of this, when they got stuck into the mid-80s indiepop boom (otherwise known as c86), is of course what I was most interested in. Good to see Amelia as the main interviewee for this bit, and she…

Teenage Wildlife 2011
I'd wanted to see this for YEARS, and I wasn't disappointed!
This is Ash's infamous '1977' tour film written by Steven Wells and narrated by Ewan McGregor! Northern Irish teenagers being complete hallions at the beginning of their fame and fortune. If you enjoyed the hidden track on '1977' featuring bassist Mark Hamilton boaking, you'll love this! There's also some introspection and lots of Ween singalongs!
And yeah, if The Big Breakfast woke me up first thing in the morning I wouldn't be happy either.

The early primitive versions of future DEVO classics Secret Agent Man and Jocko Homo are creepy enough, never mind when they're set to visuals like this. There's also a wonderful…

Mr. Bungle: The Night They Came Home 2020
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This year a lot of bands are streaming live concerts online, but I doubt many put as much time and effort into it as the recently-reformed Mr. Bungle did with this film. Beyond the performance of their early thrash metal music (re-recorded and released in 2020), this whole thing is just silly good fun. We see Mike Patton getting his daft Coolio hair braided backstage, a support set by legendary anti-comic Neil Hamburger, cameos by the likes of Henry Rollins,…
