  In the Mood for Love 2000

  The movie is visually stunning. The colors (especially the reds and the greens), the shapes (dancing smoke, wallpapers of pattern, frames within frames etc...) 👏🏼

  But it‘s also boring af. Just five minutes into the movie, I’d guessed the whole plot. Please, more action. Or more interesting motifs/themes. Or just make it half as long.

  And the music... only two tracks (although pretty) are repeated again and again throughout the film. I guess the intent was to reflect the characters’…

  Watched it twice in two days. Techniques like sound and transitions are used very creatively, making this an original and fun movie. You can see that they had a lot of fun making it. Its high energy makes it hard to get bored, though I wish the fight scenes were shorter. Dialogues and characters are hilarious. Plus, an incredible attention is given to detail, and I noticed so much new things when I watched it a second time. Overall, I highly recommend it.
