You, an imbecile: "Nosferatu"
Me, a genius: "Nosfera2"
While I applaud Kaufman's offbeat rhythm and stream-of-consciousness style, I'm Thinking of Ending Things fails to truly engage the viewer, leading to moments of boredom. Unsatisfying conclusions, uncertain symbolism and undertones of psychological horror create intrigue, sure, but the film strays too far into self-indulgence and pretense to come off as anything other than pointless.
Not a terrible viewing experience per se, but near 2 and a half hours of a film cannibalizing itself and other films (Kaufman's own, mostly) begs the question: why bother? Overall, a praiseworthy experiment that turns out brilliant but rubbish.
Shang-Chi (and the Legend of the Ten Rings (what a mouthful)) is visually interesting and boring everywhere else.
Still the Rings themselves have such a satisfying rythym to them that I was smiling every second they were on screen.
