The Quiet Man 1952
I think, as an Irish American, I hate John Ford and his cadre of conservative Irish Americans, including Maureen O’Hara. There was some depth to this, particularly with the boxing flashbacks, but it ended how I expected it to end. Very much a western filmed in Ireland. John Ford did in fact have to film Rio Grande in order to make this movie.
Some interesting social commentary about Irish American identity in the 50s however.
