This movie may appeal to you, but I just couldn’t get that invested. I felt like if Mark’s heroin problem felt more serious and if he had way bigger problems, I would feel worse every time he “quit” and then went back, but every time he did drugs again he never really had any massive problems. Even when he was hallucinating in his room, he was fine after that. The lack of any major consequences from the heroin was what really killed my enjoyment and stopped me from getting invested in the story.

The Grand Budapest Hotel 2014
Wes Anderson has always made incredible movies that I’ve always loved, and with the grand Budapest hotel, it has made my appreciation for his work grow. Every scene has the same charm that every Wes Anderson movie has. Everything about this movie is bursting with character. The characters are all entertaining, the plot was intriguing, and the dialogue between the characters was entertaining. Everything I love about Wes Anderson’s movies is here and done to perfection. Without question, this is my favorite Wes Anderson film.

La Haine 1995
For most of this movie, I felt like it was masterpiece that I heard people make it out to be, though I felt like I didn’t personally enjoy it as much as others did. What changed how I felt about the movie is the last third of the movie. The ending felt shocking, and was built up to excellently. The falling quote they frequently repeated was so excellently used in the ending, which was a perfect way to send of this truly excellent film.
