Mulholland Drive 2001
Lynch movies, for me, are usually only good for a one-time watch. While they contain a lot of beautiful shots and dreamlike storytelling, the material is often too disturbing to subject myself to. What makes a movie Lynchian is that you literally have no idea what is going to happen moment to moment, something that doesn’t work as well for repeat viewings.
My only exceptions to this maxim are Dune, which I’ve rewatched three or four times over the years…
