  Howl's Moving Castle 2004

  My sister said Howl looks like Felix from Stray Kids and now I can’t unsee it lol

  Being in the thick of Schoolwork and Other Life Challenges, this film was a welcome break. HMC reminded me of the beauty of nature and friendship and fighting to help each other despite all odds. Miyazaki’s idea of a man and woman mutually inspiring each other to live and thus portraying a higher ideal of love rather than just being “a romantic couple” is just so wonderful and makes a good arc for Howl and Sophie here.

  LA LA LAND was so good and so sad. The story serves as a reminder to all the artists and dreamers who question if they should really pursue their passion - as long as they fight harder for love, it will be worth it. The romantic tragedy struck a chord in me as I’ve seen conflict arise by couples thinking they have to choose between their dreams and between love, but you could choose both.

  Gladiator is a masterpiece. The movie feels novel-like in its narrative scope, moral dilemmas, and thought-provoking characters. The story elements connects superbly well, the plot is thorough, and the acting is stellar, all leading up to a commentary on justice and, in my interpretation, how popular media is fatefully intertwined with politics and social values.
