The source material was at times boring so it’s understandable that they had to deviate from and dramatise it quite a bit. But the best decision they made was that she ends up with Julien and not Peter!!! This makes so much more sense and that was my biggest gripe with the book!!! But the COSTUMES!!! WHY is she getting around in WWII era France in brand new clothes and a shiny new leather bag when she is meant to be a struggling widow???? Weather the dang costumes people!!!!
