fantastic. gives a whole new meaning to the concept of woke pope. stanley tucci as a cardinal named BELLINI makes so much sense dramaturgically and yes I would like to see a pope who does cooking videos and releases his own line of cookware.
but apart from the comedic gold in this, it’s an affecting probe into the meanings of faith. the themes of doubt vs certainty evoked throughout are cleverly, and quite beautifully, expressed in the embodiment of the faith - the new Pope - and his active refusal to conform to artificial binaries that seek to disfigure that which God intended.
