  Comparisons to There Will Be Blood and The Godfather entirely warranted.  And I’ll throw in The Irishman and Casino and Babylon.  A 3.5 hour epic about the blackened, rotting soul of America and the promises within, both real and falsified.  One of the bleakest films I’ve ever seen (especially the second half) with a fantastic score and central performances from Adrien Brody, Guy Pearce, Felicity Jones, and Joe Alwyn.
