Do the Right Thing 1989

I've never seen a film quite like this and there's so much to love about it. The super colorful and lively visuals, world, characters, and interactions. The multiple levels of racial and systemic issues and dynamics on display. The explosiveness, frustration, and catharsis of the ending in such a visceral and unfortunately still very relevant way. The quotes at the end adding even more nuance to an already very nuanced film. This film leaves you with so much to think about and I already want to rewatch it to try to really understand everything it has to say.
Boogie Nights 1997

I figured it would be an uphill battle for me to actually enjoy this due to the subject matter, but a bigger problem is that I don’t even think it’s as interesting as everyone makes it out to be. I came for some more of that PTA Magnolia magic which I finally got in the last hour and liked, but besides that, I didn't care for this too much and I don't really get it or see the appeal.

I never would have guessed a movie about an assassin hunting down his employers, directed by David Fincher, would be slow, boring, and sparse in it's plot, yet here we are.

I've seen a lot of comparisons to Sorry to Bother You and Get Out, but it also takes a few pages from Jordan Peele's Us and combines the three to make something really interesting and fun.
