If you ignore the obvious homophobia, you'll finally see the massive amounts of unnecessary gore! What did I just watch? A wild ride tho.

Catharsis for my inner preteen who would have found extreme amounts of comfort and hope in this movie before and after coming out. Cried bc it made me think about how younger generations will step into a more accepting world with a broader, more visible and accessible lgbtq+ community.

Watched this while eating Dollar General Captain Crunch that tasted overwhelmingly like laundry detergent. That is what this movie made me feel. Background noise to a mindless doomscroll session.

A good friend of mine set me up for heartbreak the night I watched this.
They knew how vulnerable I was.
They knew about my love for Irish lore/culture.
They knew about my obsession with witchcraft and magic.
They've been listening to me.
Taking notes as I preach about how toxic the repression of emotion can truly be.
THEY KNEW.
THIS WAS A CALCULATED ATTACK.
They wanted me to cry over the grotesquely adorable animation and lie awake at night thinking about the ethereal selkies and their beautiful songs.
WELL I HOPE THEY'RE READING THIS. AND I HOPE THEY'RE HAPPY.
THEY WON.
I WILL NOT RECOVER.
