If Oscar-nominated movies are like fine dining (which in this case was all I saw during January), then I'm proud to say my first meal of February in Argylle was a good old-fashioned late night serving of Taco Bell. It hits the spot in the moment, maybe you regret it the next day, maybe not. But in this case, I was really craving a fun movie with action, decent comedy and plot twists and this movie certainly delivered on that

In the winter of 2018, I watched my mother make a rare mistake. We went to the movies together, thinking we were going to watch Spiderverse. Instead she ditched me on the spot for Jason Mamoa’s abs and the cause of my beloved Jack Sparrow’s downfall….but I made the right call and stuck with Spiderverse. This June, we are in a similar situation where my mother can choose between Across the Spiderverse or watch Ezra and Ezra for 2.5 hours. I hope she makes the right choice this time
