Lost Ladies 2023
this movie took me by surprise. i was expecting a silly comedy of errors story which it kind of was but… it also had sad, sweet, bleak, and dark moments. i cried at the end. some things felt overly on the nose or cynical to me, but i also recognize that some of that likely comes from a place of privilege. apart from the plot itself, i thought the writing was funny, the acting was really good, and the visuals were pretty.

that being said, this movie ruined my day. joey king should never have auditioned, chase stokes idk what ur doing here and idk why they made u look scarier every time u were on screen. pacing was weird, felt like nothing happened even during the action scenes. all the book’s big reveals were made pretty early on and made the movie fall extremely flat.…
