  The art and animation is so fun and creative. The story felt anticlimactic and flat. I feel like it could have been far more epic with real trials that made for a more emotional journey. But it is pure and fun and pretty.

  Probably best musical theme in all of Ghibli. So many beautiful scenes. Weak and disconnected storyline. Characters’ decisions did not always make sense in relation to their values and beliefs. Seems like the plot was spread too thin and was incoherent at times. Makes sense when I found out that the screenplay changed some of the major plot from the book.

  Are there better bond movies? Sure. Is this one awesome? Absolutely. 
  The misogyny doesn’t look good in hindsight, but this film paved the way for cool spy movies of the following 50 years. Sick tech gadgets, insane stunts, laser(!), goldfinger getting sucked out of a plane window despite being twice the size of the opening… this movie has it all. The fits are unmatched. Not to mention Pussy Galore!
