A total blast from start to finish, taking its strong premise to its farthest possible extreme. It hits the exact right tone throughout and is anchored by pitch perfect casting of Jack Quaid and Amber Midthunder. The villain is a bit weak, but it doesn’t detract from the experience too much.

A classic whodunnit, but in the world of spies. A ton of people in my showing walked out - I think they were expecting an action film or something. I on the other hand savored nearly every scene. The dialog was hilarious and the acting was terrific - Marisa Abela in particular steals the show. Loved the finale with the Hercule Poirot style round up of all the suspects.

What a MESS! Trap is shockingly terrible, but might have been the most fun I’ve had in a theater all year. The packed crowd was living for all the countless bizarre, puzzling choices that were made. Speaking of choices, Josh Hartnett made many of them in his delightfully campy performance. Allison Pill shows up in one of the worst outfits in recent memory. Go see it.

Gorgeous and strangely hypnotic, this is easily one of my favorite films of the year and probably the greatest cat movie ever made. The motion capture of all the animals is stunning, embodying them with so much personality; which is absolutely critical for the dialog-free story. One scene that takes place atop of large pillar in the sky is so beautifully haunting that I cannot stop thinking about it. And the finale is uniquely challenging and thought-provoking.
