I am so grateful to this movie for exploring girls' adolescence and the relationship between daughters and mothers so tenderly and deeply. there are so many things here that are familiar for every woman, regardless of age: exploring your own sexuality, high expectations from society, self-doubt and desire to be better at everything, dependence on male validation, and injustice based on misogyny. and most importantly – the way girls try to distance themselves from their mothers and live differently, but in the end they find support only in each other

p.s. kani kusruti the woman that you are!!

I'm sorry but I'm the only one who feels terribly uncomfortable watching 15-year-old and 18-year-old actresses kissing and doing sexual things on screen??? what the hell sure this movie feels like some kind of fetish fantasy for straight men and the relationship dynamic between the main female characters is very embarrassing and unhealty... I don't even believe it was directed by a woman, especially a lesbian

wow, what a disappointment... this movie tries to discuss serious topics and portray the main female character as a strong woman, but it fails because anora was directed by a man. I literally can't think of any reason why this mysoginistic piece of shit won the palme d'or

upd: this movie just won four oscars and I've lost the last of my faith in humanity

I don't believe this movie was made by a woman because it feels like the wet sexual fantasy of a teenage boy with a porn addiction. I'm sorry but the idea of a woman in power who «chooses» to be submissive and controlled by a man will never be anything progressive or revolutionary. this film does not explore women's shame and sexual fantasies but only reinforces outdated patriarchal norms and views on heteronormativity and sex between a man and a woman. disgusting in every way
