“The Brutalist” left me quite overwhelmed and stunned at the same time. Nothing like I would have expected. The boldness and subtlety with which it both serves and dispels expectations of a great film epic is magnificent. The way it interweaves issues of migration, architecture, capitalist belief in progress, Jewish trauma and assertiveness and forms of violence is also sublime. A movie that just won't let me go. All filmed in fantastic images in Vista Vision.

A Real Pain 2024
»A Real Pain« misses every opportunity to tell something about the relationship between today's American Jews and the history of their European ancestors. The Holocaust only appears as a backdrop for a shallow, yet entertaining comedy. This is very bitter and annoying, as the story is based on Jesse Eisenberg's own family background. Though I really liked the dynamic between Jesse Eisenberg's and Kieran Culkin's characters.

Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child 2010
It‘s only Basquiat who makes the movie worth watching not the movie itself.

Pacifiction 2022
The film has a pull that you can't escape. Albert Serra is a genius.
