Not a bad movie but it’s so solidly built in the first half and very believable, so the tail end of it feels more out of place in how far fetched it is. I had this impression as a kid but wanted to rewatch to verify and yeah it’s just hard to buy it. I’m fine with an element of mystery and things not being all concrete and understandable, but I think this movie does execute that very well compared to the more “realistic” parts.
