  great study on human greed and ego. i get why it's considered the most bleak of miyazaki's films but i found its grappling of nihilism and optimism satisfyingly balanced. gorgeous animation with so many stunlocking visuals and also great sound design, im always a sucker for the use of silence and cacophony. i think the only things keeping this from a 5 star for me is the somewhat blandness or straightforwardness of Ashitaka's character and the sort of rushed resolution…
